About This Quote

In the book “Death Ship” by Chuck Palahniuk, a group of ten men and women – all of them – are about to die on a shipwreck. However, the only way they will die is if they stick together and kill each other. If any of them try and escape or do anything else that would end their own life, they will die instead. For this reason, they all agree to stay together.

As time goes on, more people find out about this survival game and decide to join in as well. Some of them attempt to kill others but those people are quickly killed off as well. The one thing that never happens is anyone leaving the ship or the game.

As the day draws closer and closer to their deaths, they watch as others who joined earlier on slowly die. Those who still have a chance at survival know that what lies on the other side is certain death, and yet they cling on to hope that one day there will be a way out.
